IELTS Information
What does IELTS mean? What does the
test consist of?
The IELTS Test consists of four parts designed
to test all aspects of English language ability.
The parts are:
Listening (What you understand from spoken English you hear)
Writing (How you use written English to complete writing tasks)
Reading (What you understand from reading English passages);
and
Speaking (How you express yourself in English)

What accents will I hear?
IELTS examines on International English so
your speaking examiner and the listening test may include
Australian, English, American, or other common accents in
English.
Where will I get more
information?
The “IELTS Information for Candidates”
booklet is available free of charge from the IDP IELTS test
locations in Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo,
Naga and Zamboanga when you register. This
booklet gives you information on the IELTS test including the
format of each component of the test (Listening, Reading, Writing
and Speaking) and the question types.
How can I get ready for my IELTS
Test?
You can avail of a test preparation kit at the
IDP office if you wish (see Practice Materials and Workshops).
IDP conducts IELTS Preparation Workshops on
Wednesdays or Saturdays before each test date. Registration fee is
Pesos 2,200*in Manila).

Refund Policy
(a) If you decide not to go ahead with the
test after you have registered and you notify IDP Philippines at
least 5 weeks before the test is to be conducted, a 25%
administrative charge will be withheld when you apply for your
refund.
Cancellations requested less than 5 weeks
before the test will normally not receive a refund.
(b) If you fail to appear for test for which
you have registered and can produce a medical certificate or other
satisfactory evidence of the reason for your non appearance and you
no longer want to take the test, a 25% administrative charge will
be deducted from your refund. If you still want to do the test and
you have provided satisfactory evidence of your reason for non
appearance, you will be allowed to transfer your candidacy to
another test date. NB: Deferment will be allowed once only and
application should be done within 5 working days from
the original test date. A processing fee of Php 1000.00 shall
be paid upon filing of all requests for deferment. If the test fee
has increased in the meantime, you will be asked to pay the
difference before taking the test.
(c) If you fail to appear for a test for which
you have registered and do not notify IDP Philippines beforehand
and cannot produce evidence of a satisfactory reason for your
nonattendance, your test fee will be forfeited.
About your IELTS Results
Test Results are usually available to test
candidates or their authorised representative thirteen days after
the test date. For tests conducted on Saturday, the results will be
available on the Friday, thirteen (13) days, excluding holidays,
after the test date. For tests conducted on Thursdays, results will
be released in the afternoon of the Wednesday, thirteen days (13),
excluding holidays, after the test date.
Recipients of test results other than the
candidate (Immigration departments etc)requested on the
registration form will be sent copies three weeks after the test
date.
Extra copies of original valid IELTS results
if required to be sent internationally for appropriate purposes are
available by paying Php 350* which includes postage for
results.

Enquiry on Results
Candidates who are dissatisfied with their
test result may apply for remarking of all or part of the test. The
fee for remarking is PHP7,000 no matter how many or which parts of
the test are remarked. Payment of the remarking fee is by Bank
Draft or Manager's Check payable to “IDP Education Pty
Ltd”
As the remarking process occurs in Australia,
the outcome of the remarking may not be known for up to six weeks
after the test material reaches Australia.

If you reside outside Metro Manila and you
wish to enquire on your IELTS results, you may download and
complete the enquiry form found on the right side of this page and
send to our office together with the original Test Result Form and
remarking fee.
Should your test score improve as a result of
the remarking process, you will be entitled to a full refund of the
remarking fee.
Can you do the test
again?
Yes, but you are advised that it is unlikely
for your results to improve unless you take some remedial action in
improving your skills in English before retaking the test.
How long are your results
valid?
IELTS results remain valid for 2 years from
the date of testing but may be superceded by more recent results
should you re-sit the test.
